There’s a lot to NIBC

Think you’ve got what it takes to be an investment banker? The next financial superstar would know to invest in a ticket to the 2014 National Investment Banking Conference. You’ll earn a great return for your time and money if you attend the event held on January 8th and 9th at the Pan Pacific Hotel. Through its workshops, panels, simulations, and keynote speeches from highly regarded professionals, NIBC will give attendees an overview of different careers available in the capital markets.
Highlights of the conference include three simulations – asset management, sales & trading, and investment banking – in which teams, acting and thinking as professionals in the capital markets, compete for prizes. If you are not interested in the competition portion of the event, the IPO, M&A, and valuation workshops are a unique opportunity to gain in-depth perspectives on what makes the financial market tick. On both days, afternoons and evenings feature a networking session and dinner. The final evening ends with a 5-star gala dinner during which competitors present their pitch books to a panel of judges. With 300 students and competitors from the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Asia, as well as over 100 professionals attending, every delegate comes away with an expanded network.
This year NIBC welcomes the addition of an interactive investment banking Q&A panel, and an opening keynote by Mr. Andrew Sweeney, Portfolio Manager at Phillips, Hager & North.
According to Director Louisa Yeung, “The Conference gives an overview of different careers in the capital markets with a focus on investment banking. Therefore, anyone who is interested in pursuing a career in capital markets or simply wants to learn more about this area should attend.” If you still haven’t purchased a ticket, you must act quickly as they sell out every year.
